Introducing Illaheechuck Civil Construction
A new First Nations owned heavy civil contractor for British Columbia — built on 60 years of combined civil construction experience.
Illaheechuck Civil Construction is a new name built on a long history. Our leadership brings sixty years of combined experience in civil construction and site development to one First Nations owned company serving British Columbia and Yukon — with offices in Campbell River, Prince George, and Whitehorse.
The name tells you who we are. In Chinook Wawa, the old trade language of the Pacific coast, illahee means land and chuck means water. Land and water is where we come from, and it's where we build: the shorelines, communities, and corridors of Vancouver Island, Northern BC, and beyond.
What we do
We self-perform the core scopes of heavy civil work: earthworks and mass excavation, underground infrastructure, roads and site development, concrete and structures, and environmental and shoreline works.
And we run our sites with a discipline most contractors subcontract away: layout, grade control, quantities, line locating, and as-builts are all handled in-house. Less rework, tighter numbers, cleaner close-outs — it's not glamorous, but it's why our work finishes on grade and on budget.
Why it matters
British Columbia is investing in infrastructure at a generational scale, and much of that investment carries Indigenous participation commitments. As a First Nations owned contractor, Illaheechuck exists to turn those commitments into real work, real careers, and real community benefit — not paper compliance.
